Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my appointment last?

Your initial foot treatment session can last anything from 40 minutes up to an hour, sometimes a little bit longer. The initial appointment will consist of a history of your medication, a foot assessment, treatment and advice.

Follow up, or routine appointments after the initial appointment is approximately 30 minutes.

How regularly should I have my feet checked?

It is advisable to have your feet regularly checked, usually 6 weeks for a nail cut and file, or sooner depending on your foot condition.

Are you qualified and Insured?

Yes, I am qualified & fully insured as well as First Aid Trained and DBS checked giving you reassurance and peace of mind.

I gained my diploma at The Smae Institute in Maidenhead – the longest, leading training organisation in the UK. I am also a member of the Open College of Foot Health Professionals (MCFHP), & The British Association of Foot Health Professionals (MAFHP).

Furthermore, I keep my training up to date and current, keeping my skills and knowledge fresh and relevant. Not only is this important to you and me but is a requirement of my membership of the professional body and registers I am associated with.

Do you sterilise your equipment?

Yes, all the equipment is of the highest quality and sourced from leading industry suppliers. Havering Foot Care Services apply a robust infection control routine and professionally sterilise all equipment at 134 degrees after each use, providing patients with reassurance and peace of mind.

I’m embarrassed about my feet.

Please do not worry. I am trained to look at different kinds of feet with a wide range of problems. Everyone who books an appointment has one concern or another. Feet are the areas of the body that are the most neglected, and it is important to look after them.

Will it be painful?

The treatment usually involves the removal of dead tissue without blood supply so there is minimal discomfort. Utmost care is taken to adopt a gentle approach to ensure a comfortable experience.

Will it tickle?

Some patients are more sensitive around their feet. A gentle but firm hold by me will prevent you from feeling ticklish. The treatment can be adapted to ensure you are comfortable.

I have a problem sitting for long periods.

This isn’t a problem. I will work with you and adapt your treatments to ensure you remain comfortable.

Is this an NHS service?

No, Havering Foot Care offer a private service only and are not associated with the NHS.
